Build the skills—and the confidence—to coach well.
Coaching will always ask you to respond to situations you couldn’t have predicted. The goal isn’t to have a script for every conversation. It’s to build the skills, judgment, and confidence to know what to do next.
Build trust from the start
Create the relationships and conditions that make meaningful coaching possible.
Know where to focus
Listen for what’s underneath the surface and identify what will help a coachee move forward.
Have conversations that lead somewhere
Ask powerful questions, offer feedback, and help people turn insight into action.
Build a coaching practice that works
Create structures, routines, and boundaries that make your work more focused and sustainable
Navigate the hard moments
Respond skillfully when emotions are high, resistance shows up, or a conversation takes an unexpected turn.
Keep getting better
Reflect on your coaching, learn from what happens, and continue developing your practice over time.
Build a stronger coaching program—not just stronger individual coaches.
When coaches are left to figure out their roles on their own, they can end up working from different understandings of what good coaching looks like.
Build Your Coaching Practice gives your coaching team a shared foundation while helping each coach build the judgment and skills to respond to the people and situations in front of them.
For your organization, that means:
A shared approach to coaching
Common language, foundational skills, and a clear understanding of what effective coaching looks like.
More consistency across your coaching team
Clear expectations for how coaches build relationships, structure their work, navigate conversations, and support change.
Development that continues after initial training
A full year to practice so your coaches get feedback, deepen their skills, and receive ongoing support as new challenges arise.
More support for the people supporting everyone else
Invest in the people who help teachers, leaders, and teams learn, grow, and navigate change.

"As a team of consultants and external instructional coaches, the Coach Learning Library is giving us a powerful shared foundation for our work. We appreciate the calibration and common language it provides, which has strengthened both our individual coaching practices and our collective approach as a team.
Each month, team members participate in the Skill Sessions individually and then come together during our monthly team meetings to debrief, reflect, and extend our learning. The resources and tools shared in each session have expanded our professional toolkits, not only for our own coaching interactions, but also for the ways we support and develop in-district coaches."

"In Coaching Burnout, I grew both my skills and confidence as I learned new layers of coaching and realized how much I already knew.
