It’s time to celebrate!
September 25, 2023
It’s the end of September, a month that usually feels especially long and full for all of us. The end of a month, (or week or year) offers a natural moment to reflect, as well as to celebrate, and so here are some “Look Back” prompts for you, or to offer your coachees.
- Who did you connect with this month? Which connections felt especially nourishing?
- When did you feel competent or even masterful in your work?
- What do you feel proud of having done, or not done, this month?
- When did you feel like your work was most meaningful?
These prompts are strategic and potentially impactful because they invite reflection on the core human needs.
Basically, when we get our core human needs met, we’re content and our resilience tanks fill up. When our needs are unmet, either in the short term or chronically, we become depleted and burnt out. Next Monday I’ll tell you more about the core human needs, but you can also hear me talk about them on the Bright Morning podcast Episode 146.
Now, take a deep breath. Exhale. You’ve made it through September.

Did You Make it Through?
October 30, 2023
Congratulations. It’s the end of October! I want to say, you made it through, but what does it mean to “make it through?” Also, perhaps we should aspire to more than just “making it through.” So here are some Look Back reflection prompts to expand your notion of what it means to successfully reach the end of a month.
Intention can be a placebo
October 15, 2023
I have talked and written a lot about setting intentions before coaching sessions or meetings. Often we set an intention, and then forget all about it, and then after the meeting we remember and think, oh! I forgot all about it but it happened anyway!
